LASH ARTISTS: HOW SHOULD I SIT?

Whether you're just starting out or have been a pioneer in the area of lash artistry for a while, you've probably had back aches. It's no surprise that back discomfort is a major issue for many lash technicians. All those long hours of maintaining a constant posture, leaning, and intense attention may undoubtedly result in back pain, and in the worst-case scenario, back damage.

So, if you were a lash artist, how should you sit to avoid back pain?

When we are at work, we must maintain proper posture. A bad posture can also contribute to the following:

  • Circulation Issues
  • a bad mood
  • Digestion Problems
  • Stress Levels Have Increased
  • Fatigue
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Less Motivation

THE EXERCISES LISTED BELOW WILL HELP TO MINIMIZE THE HARM CAUSED BY WRONG POSTURE.

While applying eyelash extension

Stand up straight, shoulders back and down, and hands on hips. Inhale gently via your nose, allowing the oxygen to fill your stomach rather than your chest, and exhale through your mouth. Repeat this for 30 seconds, every 30 minutes.
I addition, you can follow other ways to support your back and improve your posture.

  • Purchase a supportive chair
  • Maintain proper posture
  • Have a rest tine between clients
  • Get frequent massages

    After each client

Sit up straight with your core muscles engaged and your arms out to the side, palms facing up. Lift your arms straight up as you inhale through your nose, experiencing a stretch at the top of your bicep.
The lash artist should avoid being too far away from the client since this will result in poor posture and persistent back discomfort.

Another typical error is for the lash artist to place the client too low on the table, which causes neck and eye discomfort and is equally wrong. Make sure the client is sitting high enough on the table to avoid slouching and neck pain. When you conduct lash extensions, the client should be near to you.

And to have a proper posture, hope you not to forget adjusting the position in order to avoid these issues.

    • Maintain a straight back at all times
    • Make sure your feet are shoulder-width apart and flat on the floor
    • Your chin should be held high and not tilted too far down
    • Check that your hands are not flexed up or down
    • Move your entire body forward, not just your back
